This movie was based on the book written by Erich Segal. It was one of the top sellers during the 1970s. The story is about Oliver Barrett IV, rich young man hat comes from wealth and a long legacy of Harvard graduates, falling in love and marrying a working class girl. After finding this out, his father disowns him and the girl, Jenny, and Oliver struggle to pay for his school. Oliver graduates from school being third in his class and works at a New York Law Firm. The couple is now stable and try to make a baby. They failed and went to the doctor to find out that Jenny has leukemia. Jenny's days are number and on the day of her death, Oliver is heartbroken and lonely.

The other four children are obnoxious and get into trouble while Charley stays humble and gets to enjoy the whole visit. The story shows that being humble and respectful gets you far in life.

This is a slasher film about a group of kids on a road trip in Texas. They pick up a hitchhiker on their way and run out of gas. The hitchhiker slashes Franklin and they kick him out the car. The gas station says that they are all out of fuel, so the kids go to find a swimming hole in wait at. Instead they come across a house. Kirk yells asking if anybody is home and he goes through the unlocked door where Leatherface kills him. Pam goes in to check on Kirk and Leathface captures her and puts her in the freezer. Sally and Franklin go through the film seaching for their friends, but trying to survive through the process.
